Pre-Installation
Before installation can begin, we must take a look at any other requirements or options for your particular application. 1993 and older Dodge trucks: A new BD Turbo Down Pipe (Part # 1040050) will be necessary for the brake install, due to the different position of the exhaust outlet with the brake installed on the turbo. 1988-1998 6BTA Dodges trucks: Heavy-duty valve springs (Kit Part # 1030060) must be installed before operation of Heavy Duty Exhaust Brake. Most trucks in these years come standard with 40# springs and they will not hold the back pressure created by this 60# exhaust brake system.
