This performance kit installation steps on Audi A3: 1. Disconnect the negative terminal from the vehicle battery. 2. Remove the plastic engine cover. (Fig. 1) 3. Unclip & remove the engine breather hose from the intake pipe. (Fig. 2) 4. Remove the small vacuum hose from under the breather hose on the intake pipe. Follow the vacuum hose & remove the hose from the inlet manifold. Blank off the pipe on the manifold using the small rubber cap supplied. (Fig. 3) 5. Remove the small rubber hose from the side of the intake pipe as shown. (Fig. 4) 6. Unclip & remove the auxiliary air pump feed pipe from the air box as shown. (Fig. 5) 7. Unclip & remove the plastic intake pipe from the throttle housing. (Fig. 6) 8. Remove the air box securing bolt & carefully pull the air box assembly out of its mounting grommets. Remove the air box assembly from the vehicle. (Fig. 7&8) 9. Secure the silicone adaptor hose the throttle housing using the hose clamps supplied. (Fig. 9) 10. Screw the studded rubber mount into the original air box mounting point as shown. (Fig.10) 11. Assemble the saddle bracket / mounting bracket using the allen head bolt, nylon conical washer, flat metal washer & nylock nut. (Fig.11) 12. Attach the saddle / mounting bracket assembly to the studded rubber mount using a nylock nut & flat washer as shown. (Fig.12) 13. Screw the large threaded vent adaptor into the new plastic intake pipe as shown. (Fig.13) 14. Screw the small threaded vent adaptor in the side of the new intake pipe as shown.(Fig.14) Note: on later models this may not be required, in this case replace with the blanking plug supplied) 15. Fit the new stepped silicone breather hose to the original engine breather pipe as shown & secure using the 20 / 32mm mini hose clamp supplied. (Fig.15) 16. Position the new intake assembly to the throttle housing; slide the new silicone breather hose onto the vent adaptor located on the new intake tube & secure using the 16 / 27mm mini hose clamp supplied. (Fig.16&17) 17. Secure the new intake pipe assembly to the throttle housing using the silicone adaptor hose & hose clips supplied. (Fig18) 18. Place the intake pipe onto the saddle bracket & fit the supplied hose clamp around both the saddle bracket & intake pipe. Do not tighten at this time. (Fig.19) 19. Slide the new air filter onto the intake pipe, ensure the air filter neck sits onto the saddle bracket (Ensure the hose clamp fits around both the air filter neck & saddle bracket). Now tighten the hose clamp. (Fig.20&21) 20. Fit the original small rubber hose to the vent adaptor located on the side of the new plastic intake pipe. (Fig.22)
