Installation Pro.Fit Kit on Ford Transit Connect. Place the DTRT and the Hook Tool in the space between the dash molding and the air vent bezel above and to the right of the radio. Use the hook tool first to gently pry up the air vent bezel sufficient enough to insert the DTRT. Use the DTRT in a gentle twisting motion around the bezel to release the eleven (11) retainer clips securing the air vent bezel to the dash molding. Place bezel off to the side. Insert four (4) Mercedes/Audi radio removal tools in the slots located in the four corners of the radio as indicated by the arrows in Picture 1. Follow radio removal instructions included with the radio removal tools part number (DM-20-22).
Slide the radio gently out of the dash (pic 2), disconnect the wiring and carefully place the radio off to the side. Hiding behind the radio are two (2) 7mm bolts securing the radio bezel to the dash molding. Remove these bolts and place them carefully off to the side; use the DTRT to remove the radio bezel held in place with four (4) clips. Place the VSM-G3 in place as shown in picture 3(make sure the radio bezel does not interfere with the VSM-G3). Use the VSM-G3 as a guide and mark the locations of the pilot holes with a marking pen.
With a 5/64” bit and drill, drill out the locations of the pilot holes, drilling no more than 1/4” deep! Place the VSM-G3 over the pilot holes and secure it to the dash with the three (3) provided #10 X 5/8” screws, using a Phillips screw driver. Once the VSM-G3 is flush and secured, assemble the dash back together in the reverse order in which it was disassembled. You have successfully installed your VSM-G3!
