The AEM Performance Air Induction System is the result of extensive development on a wide variety of cars. It is the most advanced short pipe air intake system on the market. Each system is specifically engineered for its particular application. All AEM Short Ram Air Intake Systems deliver maximum performance gains through lightweight, all-aluminum, mandrel-bent tubing that is tuned in both length and diameter. The tube length and diameter are matched for each specific engine to give power over a broad RPM range. Unlike systems that use a continually diverging cross-section, we take advantage of the acoustical energy in the inlet duct to promote cylinder filling during the intake valve-opening event.

Your Airaid Intake System was carefully inspected and packaged. Check that no parts are missing, or were damaged during shipping. If any parts are missing, contact Airaid. The air filter element is protected from direct exposure to water and debris; care should be taken not to drive through deep water. WATER INGESTION IS THE DRIVERS RESPONSIBILTY! The air filter is reusable and should be cleaned using the Airaid Filter Tune-Up Kit periodically.

Installation Procedure:
Step 1: Prior to lifting the vehicle it is recommended that you measure the stock height so that you have a base line measurement. Measure from the bottom of the wheel to the lip of the fender, as in Insert A. Position truck on a flat surface and lift vehicle by the frame so that the front wheels are off the ground. Use a floor jack and jack stands or a (2) two post lift if available.
Step 2: Remove the upper sway bar end link hardware, the lower strut mount hardware, the three (3) nuts on the upper strut mount. Loosen and remove the upper ball joint nut. Separating the ball joint from the spindle may require the use of a hammer or gear puller if available. Once separated remove the strut from vehicle. Also remove the brake caliper and secure it as to not overstretch the rubber brake line.

Flange Requirements:
DEI’s resilient seated (RS) valves are designed for installation between ANSI Class 125/150 flat or raised faced flanges. Gaskets are not required. Lined pipe, heavy wall pipe or flanges must have a minimum allowable inside diameter at the centered body face to clear the disc sealing edge when opening the valve.
Storage:
The valves should be stored on a pallet or “skid” in a clean, dry warehouse. If the valves must be stored outside, the following apply:
1. Valves must be kept off the ground high enough to avoid standing water.
2. Cover the valves with a water repellant cover (not included with valve).
