1. Raise and support vehicle at a safe, comfortable working height. Let the front suspension hang freely
2. Remove oem coil spring and shock absorber. Refer to factory service manual for proper disassembly procedure.
3. Remove the factory shock nut from the top of the lower control arm. This is best done with a chisel and then ground smooth.
4. The factory bump stop must also be removed. It has a nut on the bottom of the arm.
5. The upper coil spring retainer needs to be taken out as well. It is secured with rivets that need to be ground down or drilled out from the top. Some cars may have bolts instead of rivets. Note: If this is not done the top of the Shockwave will come in contact with the retainer and permanently damage the Shockwave.
6. Apply thread sealant to the straight airline fitting and screw into the top of the Shockwave. Rotate the bellow separate of the shock to position the fitting towards the front of the car. There is a slot that the airline can be run through. Face the adjustment knob towards the spindle for easy access. Route airline.
7. Slide the stud top of the Shockwave through the OEM shock hole. Place Gold 5/8” flat washer on top of frame and fasten with 5/8” nyloc jam nut.
8. Swing the lower arm up to the Shockwave and attach with two 3/8” x 1 ž” bolts. The trunnion will sit on top of the lower arm
9. There should be adequate clearance between the Shockwave and frame but still needs to be checked through full suspension travel. If needed trim the frame for clearance.
10. For better sway bar alignment the end link must be cut down by 1” to 2 ―” long.
11. Double-check all clearance around the Shockwave. It is the final responsibility of the installer to insure that the air spring does not rub on anything at anytime.
12. Driving height on this car should be attained at around 105psi. but will differ from one vehicle to another.
