Installation by a trained mechanic is recommended
Step 1:Position vehicle on a flat surface and lift vehicle by the frame so that the front wheels are off the ground. Use a floor jack and jack stands or a (2) two post lift if available. Next, locate the torsion key at the rear of the torsion bar under the cab of the vehicle. (Insert A)
Note: Prior to lifting the vehicle it is recommended that you measure the stock height of the vehicle so that you have a base line to gauge the height of the vehicle. Measure the vehicle from the bottom of the wheel to the lip of the fender. (Insert B)

Valve Body Inspection
1. If a line-to-lube hole has been drilled in the PR valve circuit, it should be plugged to reduce converter drainback.
2. Inspect the line pressure plug and sleeve. Leakage here will result in poor line pressure control.
3. Inspect the TV checkball separator plate seat. Leakage here may produce stacked shifts and/or no kickdown.

Disassembly Instructions
1. Remove the detent assembly and spring retainer bracket (see Figure 1).
2. Remove the original pressure regulator spring and valve.
3. Remove the end plate on the opposite side of the bore and remove the line pressure plug and sleeve, throttle pressure plug and the spring (see Figure 3).
4. Keep all components removed in steps 2 and 3 except for the pressure regulator valve, spring and the throttle pressure plug for reassembly.
5. Clean the bore.

1993 Chrysler Body Chart

In 1993 Chrysler has improved security in their Double-Bitted locking system. All 1993 vehicles will utilize a new key groove (78 primary, 79 vallet), the change in key groove will initiate a keyway restricted vallet system and new J-Series codes. A seventh tumbler has been added to the ignitions.

To continue giving your customers the quality service their use to, the following should be noted when servicing the 1993 vehicles:
• Some new component parts have been added to the line, old component parts remain unchanged. (Tumblers, Caps, Shutters, Springs, Pawls, Shafts)
• New lock service packages will be required for 1993.

The AEM Cold Air System is the result of extensive development on a wide variety of cars. Each system is engineered for the particular application. The AEM Cold Air System differs from all others in several ways. We take the inlet air from outside of the engine compartment where the inlet air is considerably cooler than the hot underhood air. The cooler inlet air temperature translates to more power during the combustion process because cool air is denser than warm air. AEM has conducted extensive inlet air temperature studies and we have seen temperature reductions of up to 50 degrees by pulling air from outside of the engine compartment. The air mass flow to the engine is increased because of the increased airflow and reduced inlet temperature, which translates to more power. The AEM Cold Air Systems are 50 states Street Legal (some models and years still pending) and come with complete instructions for ease of installation.

Notes:
• Tool kit contains more parts than are required for Chrysler RWD installation - follow instructions.
• This tool kit can also be used to install 56361-01K case repair sleeve in A4LD, 4R44/55E, 5R55E, AOD & E and 4R70W

Installation Instructions
1. Remove valve body and manual shaft seal.
2. Clean seal bore and pan/valve body surface of case. Run a file across case pan gasket surface to make sure there are no nicks or burrs where the reamer guide plate attaches to case.

Machining Instructions:
NOTE: Stand position is determined upon valve length and rocker pivot length. Please refer to the chart below to determine the proper machining dimensions.
1) MEASURE VALVE TIP TO SPRING SEAT DIMENSION (DIM A) AND REFER TO “Z” COORDINATE (DIM B) ON CHART. MILL OEM ROCKER PEDISTALS DOWN FLUSH WITH THE TOP OF THE HEAD BOLT BOSS BETWEEN #1 & 3 INTAKE VALVE. THIS IS YOUR .000” Z HEIGHT. MILL REMAINDER OF ROCKER PEDISTAL TO COORDINATES LISTED UNDER DIM B.
2) SET THE “X” .000” TO THE CENTERLINE OF #3 & 5 EXHAUST VALVES. SET THE “Y” .000” TO THE CENTER OF THE FACTORY 3/8 SHAFT MOUNTING BOLTS ALREADY MACHINED IN THE HEAD.
3) DRILL AND TAP 9/16-12 X .750” DEEP AT “X” AND “Y” COORDINATES LISTED FOR VALVE LENGTH AND ROCKER BODY BEING USED. INSTALL SUPPLIED INSERTS INTO HEAD.
4) ATTACH ROCKER STAND USING SUPPLIED BOLTS AND TORQUE TO 45 FT/LBS.
