Installation:
If the vehicle has a VES (Video Entertainment System), it must be disconnected! This interface is not compatible with REF model radios. They do not have a VES input available.
1. Remove factory radio. Remove factory female 10 pin Satellite cable, if available. Plug the CHYP’s 10 pin SAT plug into the radio. Plug the factory Satel- lite cable that was just removed into the CHYP’s 10 pin connector.
2. Insert the CHYP’s 22 pin main power Plug (T-Harness) in between the factory radio and factory harness.

Valve Body Inspection
1. If a line-to-lube hole has been drilled in the PR valve circuit, it should be plugged to reduce converter drainback.
2. Inspect the TV checkball separator plate seat. Leakage here may produce stacked shifts and/or no kickdown.

Disassembly Instructions
1. Remove the detent assembly & spring retainer bracket, see Figure 1.
2. Remove the original pressure regulator spring and valve.
3. Remove the end plate on the opposite side of the bore and remove the line/TVpressure plug and sleeve assembly and the spring.
4. Keep the OEM line/TV pressure plug spring and the end plate. Discard all other OEM components.
5. Clean the bore thoroughly in a solvent tank.

Read all instructions before starting any work.
1. Remove the old exhaust system assembly from the vehicle. Lubricate the rubber isolators with WD-40, or a similar product, to aid in removal of the metal rod hangers.
2. Install DynoMax front exhaust x-pipe 54320. Finger tighten the inlet clamps.
3. Install DynoMax Super Turbo Mufflers 17662, right hand and left hand. Finger tighten the 2ı⁄₂” clamps that connect the mufflers to the x-pipe.

Detailed Instructions
1 Check off all items against Snorkel Kit List.
2 Remove guard liner, front rubber and windscreen washer reservoir.
3 Tape Template together accurately on gridline 17. Cut down grid line 28 to mark.
4 Place the Airflow Template supplied on the guard, ensuring the guard crease line are followed exactly. The top guard edge line is a guide only as it will vary slightly between pre and post 1997 cherokee’s.
5 Tape over the sites of all hole points to protect the guard. Locate holes as indicated and mark with centre punch. Drill the 8mm holes. Be careful of any wires or other obstructions under the inner guard.

1. Turn the ignition OFF and disconnect the vehicle’s negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the air temperature sensor electrical connection.
3. Pull firmly up on the engine cover to remove.
4. Loosen the hose clamps on the air intake tube at the throttle body and air box.
5. Disconnect the crank case vent from the valve cover.
6. Remove the air intake hose and crank case vent from vehicle.
7. Lift firmly up on the air box to remove from the car.
8. Remove the stock air box grommets from the stock air box mounting tray.

Installation Instructions
Note: If you are not familiar with this type of installation, you may want to consult a Service Trade Manual. The manual will also provide you a complete listing of torque specifications. Your Chrysler starter will bolt into place without any modifications. You will need to modify the transmission bellhousing to gain needed clearance for the starter nose.

Before installing the MSD Digital E-Curve Distributor, disconnect the battery cables. When disconnecting the battery cables, always remove the Negative (-) cable first and install it last.
The terminals of this Digital E-Curve Distributor require spark plug style terminals. You may need to change the terminals and boots of your wires. MSD offers two kits, PN 8849 or PN 8848 that are supplied with nine boots and terminals.
