Mazda MX-5 Cup Participant Bulletin

Welcome to the 2007 season of the MX-5 Cup. We are looking forward to an even better season than we had in 2006. We are aware of the perceived, and real, problems that occurred during the 2006 season. The majority of the problems revolved around mechanical issues. Some of the problems were due to the late date at which the series came together. Some of the issues were due to the staff having to learn what the particular issues of this new series were. There are several things that we are doing to improve the series for the 2007 season.
Chief Steward – Jim Rogaski, from the San Francisco Region, will be the new series chief steward. Pat diNatale will be helping Jim at the first race to help him transition into the particular issues that come with operating a professional series, particularly on a street course. Morris Hamm will be moving over to World Challenge to work with Pat diNatale as the Assistant Chief Steward. We will send out Jim’s contact information in the near future.

Jackson Racing Supercharger Systems are designed to be installed by individuals with good mechanical sense and with the proper tools. Use your discretion – if you are not a competent mechanic, do not attempt this installation.
Before proceeding with the installation, it is important to know that to validate the 2 year, 100K warranty on your new J/R supercharger, you must completely fill out the Moss Motors / Jackson Racing warranty card that comes in every kit, including serial number which is on a small white ‘bar code’ label on the body of the supercharger. Write down all of the numbers which appear on that label in the appropriate space on the warranty card. Be certain to do this now because once your supercharger is installed, it may be almost impossible to retrieve that serial number.

This document is intended to help guide you with the installation of the Mazda “Fuel Line Upgrade Kit” (part number N3A1-13-S70A – $63.25) and is in no way intended to be a complete instructional “how-to”. You should have confidence in your mechanical abilities before attempting the following procedure. If you are unsure if you can finish the installation, consult with your local Mazda dealer or mechanic. If you are not comfortable doing this maintenance by yourself, ask a friend to help and work as a team. A pizza and some drinks can go a long way. Read through this entire document in advance and have the factory service manual (FSM) available for any specific maintenance practices, procedures, and torque specifications. Having plenty of time to perform the procedure is recommended, as is a clean work environment.

Mazda 6 Front Sway Bar Replacement

Read these installation instructions before starting:
1. Loosen the front wheel lug nuts, then raise the car and place on safety stands. NEVER work under a car supported only by a floor jack! Remove the front wheels.
2. Remove the three (3) plastic screws which attach the wheel-well inner plastic – both sides. (Photo A)
3. Remove the two (2) sheet metal screws from the plastic panel ahead of the wheel-well to gain access to forward subframe nuts. (Photo B & C)
4. Unscrew the two (2) 15mm head securing bolts from the left end of the steering rack using a 30″ extension and universal joint. (Access these bolts as shown in Photos D & E. Guide the socket extension through the opening as shown and have an assistant position the socket head onto the bolt.) This process allows access to the steering rack bolts and avoids undue stress on the steering column during the following steps.

It is preferable to park on a flat surface, as you will have to engage and disengage the hand brake and shift from gears to neutral. If you cannot do so and are obliged to install the short shifter on a slightly inclined surface, place wooden blocks in front or behind the wheels to prevent the car from moving while you are working.
Estimated Installation Time: 60 Minutes

How-To Guide on replacing your spark plugs and spark plug wires on Mazda RX-8 vehicles. RX-8. While changing spark plugs on most vehicles is an easy task for some, there are some vehicles that are just a little different and make you go: umm…. Well, the RX-8 is definitely one of those vehicles! The RX-8 is an amazing car; it has stellar handling, a lightweight chassis, good looks, four doors, and last but not least a Mazda exclusive rotary engine. While there are a few different vehicle layouts, such as: Front wheel drive, rear wheel drive, all wheel drive, front engine, mid engine, rear engine, they all typically utilize a piston driven internal combustion engine. The Secret To Suspensions
At most, you’ve got 4 strips of rubber keeping you connected to the ground. Keep this in mind at all times when considering how a chance will affect that tire/ground interface. An optimized suspension will take into account how each suspension components affects the vehicle in acceleration, braking, cornering, over rough terrain (even race tracks have berms) and especially at the limit of adhesion when encountering any combination these at the same time.
