RGB Module Connections & Controls
The NV_RGB_X Video Interface is capable of both single video and dual video modes of operation. For dual video mode, the optional remote control pad is recommended for switching between the video inputs on the module.
Installation With Plug And Play Factory Harness
If your RGB unit came with an OEM fit factory harness, simply find the GPS navigation computer (either in the trunk, under a seat, or behind the LCD head unit) and remove the existing factory connector attached to it. Plug the new RGB wiring harness in, then connect the vehicle connector to the other end of the new RGB wiring harness. Each vehicle manufacturer varies, but in general here are the locations we recommend for each respective manufacturer:
Audi – Behind The LCD Screen Radio Head Unit
BMW – GPS Navigation Computer In The Trunk Or Under The Seat
Ford / Lincoln – Behind The LCD Screen Radio Head Unit
GM / Cadillac / Hummer – Behind The LCD Screen Radio Head Unit / Ribbon Cable Connected Inside Radio
Honda / Acura – GPS Navigation Computer In The Trunk Or Under The Seat
Mercedes Command 2.0 – Behind The LCD Screen Radio Head Unit
Mercedes Command 2.5 – Behind The LCD Screen Radio Head Unit
Nissan / Infiniti – Behind The LCD Screen Radio Head Unit
Subaru – GPS Navigation Computer In The Trunk Or Under The Seat
Toyota / Lexus – GPS Navigation Computer In The Trunk Or Under The Seat
Universal – GPS Navigation Computer In The Trunk Or Under The Seat
Volkswagen – Behind The LCD Screen Radio Head Unit
Volvo – GPS Navigation Computer In The Trunk Or Under The Seat
To install the RGB unit using the universal wiring harness you need to locate the Red,Green,Blue and Sync wires on the vehicles factory connector and “splice in” to these wires. After cutting these wires, you will put the RGB universal wiring harness in-line of the signal, by connecting one end of the cut wire coming from your GPS navigation computer to the respective IN wire on the RGB harness, then connect the OUT wire on the RGB harness to the cut wire going to your LCD screen. There will be a total of four wires you will need to do this to.

Our all new, all steel, retro air cleaner is based on the style and dimensions of the 1951-56 Oldsmobile and Cadillac air cleaners. This exciting new product will look at home in any street rod, hot rod, or traditionally styled “period perfect” car.
Measuring a whopping 18-1/4” wide, our air cleaner is no wimpy, scaled-down version of this classic design. This new air cleaner has the same external dimensions as the original Oldsmobile oil-bath part. However, our version uses an off-the-shelf 14 inch diameter by 4 inch tall paper filter element. No fiberglass construction here, steel is real! Our air cleaner top is stamped from heavy gauge steel, fully spot welded together and then powder coated in a tough semi-gloss finish.
The electroplated air cleaner base is also stamped steel and is designed to fit most carburetors and throttle bodies. The air cleaner is notched at the rear to provide clearance for the large diameter, GM, HEI distributors.
Not content with anything “normal,” we designed and produced a unique wing nut to complement the air cleaner. This chrome plated, rocket shaped nut was modeled after 50s era space vehicles and measures nearly 1-1/8 inches tall.
Our retro air cleaner assembly ships as a complete, ready-to-install kit. For about half the cost of an original, dented and rusted “swap meet find,” hot rodders can enjoy the good looks of the Cadillac air cleaner. Avoid the hassle of restoration and the difficult conversion from oil bath to paper filter element with our thoughtful design.
Part Number 8500:
Retro Styled Air Cleaner Assembly. 1951-56 Oldsmobile / Cadillac style air cleaner to fit most carburetors and throttle bodies, semi-gloss powder coat finish. Includes stamped steel air cleaner top, stamped steel air cleaner base, 4 inch x 14 inch paper air filter, “Rocket” wing nut, carburetor stud, and AC decal.

BMW Quick Start Installation (for Dual-plugged heads and non-stock ignition advance, models 1981-1995 with factory electronic ignition systems, see the full Installation & Troubleshooting Guide).
1. Open black box (part #1), set dip switches according to sticker (part #10). Apply sticker to top.
2. Attach black box (part #1) to aluminum plate (part #5) with bolts and washers (parts #11).
3. On 1970-78 models, remove mechanical advance unit. For 1979-1980 models, remove bean can.
4. Remove rotor bolt, replace with replacement bolt (part #14), timing wheel (part #3) and hub (part #6). The wheel is attached so the “N” and “S” stamps face out. Torque rotor bolt to 168 in-lbs.
5. Install trigger unit (part #2) under top and right stator bolts. Torque to 36 in-lbs.
6. Install black box under the tank where the voltage regular used to be (eliminated with the EnDuraLast alternator installation) using bolts and washers (part #12). Connect black box to trigger unit, tidy up with cable ties (part #9).
7. Connect black box wires according to laminated wiring diagram (part #7). Use extra spade terminals (part #8) as needed.
8. Turn engine to TDC.
9. Loosen 3 set screws with wrench (part# 4): LED
10. With ignition on, rotate wheel clockwise as viewed from the front of the engine. As the wheel rotates, the LED on the trigger plate will turn ON when the “S” stamped on the wheel passes the trigger. It will extinguish when the “N” on the wheel passes the trigger. Slowly rotate the wheel until the LED just turns off. Tighten the 3 set screws. This is the initial timing setting.
12. Bend pointer (part #17) as shown:
11. Start engine, rev > 3000 RPM, verify “F” mark location with timing light. Loosen set screws on timing wheel and rotate to correct. Verify with timing light. Tighten set screws with blue Loctite.
13. Apply 5 mm strip from the sticker (part #10) to end of pointer.
14. Remove indicated screw on trigger, slide on the pointer, replace screw.
15. Turn engine to TDC. Install degree wheel sticker so pointer points to “OT”.

Required Tools
- Heli-Arc welder (or MIG welder)
- 5mm hex key and
- emery paper.
CAUTION: Installation of this product should only be attempted by an experienced welder!
Installation:
NOTE: Please review Figures A-E for reference before beginning the installation of the Airhead Side Braces, and refer back to the figures during the installation process.
Figure A shows the finished installation of the CC Products/San Jose BMW Airhead Side Brace for an overall reference.
Figure B shows the upper end of the Airhead Side Brace where it attaches to the frame
(NOTE: Leave at least 1/2” spacing below the bottom edge of the fuel tank).
Figure C shows how the Airhead Side Brace must clear the air inlet tubing.
Figure D showing how the lower edge (beveled end) fits the frame at the rear of the bike.
Figure E shows one of the threaded cones properly welded to the frame, and painted.

Installation Steps:
1. Ensure Airhead Side Braces are fully assembled (threaded cones firmly bolted into the braces at both ends).
2. Hold Airhead Side Brace in their proper position (reference Figures A-D) to mark location where front and rear threaded cones will be welded to the frame.
NOTE: The lower (rear) end of the Airhead Side Brace is beveled, for reference.
NOTE: Make sure that both the left and right Airhead Side Braces are positioned equally.
3. Mark the frame and remove paint in the appropriate areas using emery cloth to prepare the frame surface for welding.
NOTE: Measure and mark twice, weld once!
4. Hold assembled Airhead Side Braces in their appropriate positions and tack-weld at the top and bottom. Perform this step for both the top (front) and bottom (rear) ends of the Airhead Side Braces, on both sides of the bike.
5. Using removable tape, mark each Airhead Side Brace as either “left” or “right”, to make sure they are replaced onto the appropriate side of the bike after disassembly.
6. Remove the bolts, and the Airhead Side Braces from the tack-welded, threaded cones. Complete the welding of the threaded cone to the motorcycle frame at all 4 locations.
7. Clean/remove any weld splatter, and paint to protect threaded cone and frame from corrosion (see Figure E).
8. Re-assemble Airhead Side Braces onto threaded cones maintaining original left side/right side orientation.
NOTE: The lower (rear) end of the Airhead Side Brace is beveled, for reference.
9. Torque hex bolts to 7 ft/lbs.

This installation guide is intended to supplement the BMW Installation Instructions to help you with the installation of the BMW Sirius Receiver for X5 (E53) with Navigation. I opted for the Terk SIR3 Low-Profile Magnetic Mount antenna and mounted it in the spoiler. As a result, this guide will not cover the installation of the BMW Sirius Satellite Antenna and you should follow the instructions supplied with the BMW Sirius Satellite Antenna Kit if you decide to go that route. I found no signal loss or weak reception with the antenna being in the spoiler and would strongly recommend if you want to be stealth and do not like the obtrusive shape of the BMW Sirius antenna on your roof.
You could also try to mount the BMW Sirius Satellite Antenna in the spoiler, but it is too big to fit in there. I attempted to remove the antenna cover to make room, but could not pull back the weather stripping to expose the torx screws. Pictures of the BMW Sirius Satellite Antenna are attached in the last section to show you more details.
Cost wise, the Terk SIR3 and SIR-SP splitter cost about $65 plus sales tax and can be purchased from Best Buy, Circuit City, Crutchfield, Sound Advice, or your local audio shops. The BMW Satellite Roof Antenna is retailed at $125.00 and can be purchased for as little as $93.60 from Pacific BMW, Circle BMW, or Crevier BMW. It takes me about 3 hours to complete the project, and the bulk of time was spent on mounting the Terk SIR3 antenna on the spoiler and fishing the antenna lead through the rubber grommets (about 1 and ½ hours!). But I also wanted to take my time and do it right, especially not rushing through the procedures and kink or crimp the antenna leads.
Last but not least, some of the pictures included in this guide came from Slappy, who had mounted his XM antenna in the spoiler as well.

CAN Bus owners are encouraged to install a Fuse Block with ignition switched relay to simplify installation and operation of all electrical accessories. Hyper-Lites and other accessories can be installed on the fuse block with no interference to the CAN Bus system.
The flasher unit is set to flash continuously while the brake is applied. To convert to 5 second flash then solid while the brakes are applied, cut the green wire loop on the flasher. Use electrical tape to protect and secure the green wires to the other wires.
1. If using the License Plate Bracket install it now (instructions on bracket package).
2. Remove the rear seat. Empty the storage compartment. Remove the two Torx Head #25 screws (see figure 0) that hold the taillight lens. Remove the Brake Light Bulb Assembly and let it hang gently by the wires. (Figure 1)
3. Mount the LED modules (clean area with alcohol) so that the LEDs point straight back. Press in place for about 5 seconds. The tape can be used only once! If you goof, new tape is required.
4. Locate the motorcycle BROWN ground wire from the ground terminal on the brake light Use one of the kit Posi-Tap connectors to tap into the BROWN ground wire. Strip the Hyper-Lite BLACK wire ― inch. . Insert the stripped BLACK wire into the free end of the Posi-Tap and tighten per the Posi-Tap instructions.
5. Choose a spot on the wiring side of the taillight assembly to mount the flasher module. Clean with alcohol. After the alcohol has dried remove the blue covering from the tape and Press the flasher onto the mounting surface for 5 seconds.
6. Locate the motorcycle’s GRAY wire from either light socket. Install the Hyper-Lite kit RED wire on the motorcycle GRAY wire using one of the kit Posi-Tap connectors..
7. If you have a Fuse Block with ignition switched relay installed, route the Hyper-Lite GRAY wire to a fused circuit on the (relay activated) fuse block.
8. If you do not have a Fuse Block installed, find the alarm circuit connector under the seat. Route the Hyper-Lite GRAY wire from the flasher module to the GREEN with White stripe wire attached to the alarm circuit (see Figure 2). The alarm circuit has five wires. A White with Brown Stripe wire, a White with Black stripe wire, a Red wire, A Brown wire , and the Green with White stripe wire. Pull the wire loom back from the wire. Tap into the GREEN with White stripe wire with the Posi-Tap provided.
9. Route the blue and brown wires from the LED modules to the flasher. Trim the Blue and Brown wires to remove any excess wire. Strip each wire 1/2″. Use a Posi-Twist to connect the 3 BLUE wires together (see Posi-Twist instructions). Use a Posi-Twist to connect the 3 BROWN wires together.
10. Replace the taillight assembly. Be careful NOT to pinch the wires when replacing the taillight assembly. Test all lights! If installing the Flashing Brake Only kit, the Hyper-Lite modules will flash when the brake is applied.
