1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Loosen the hose clamp on air cleaner box lid. Twist and remove breather hose from air cleaner box lid. 2. Unhook the two air cleaner lid latches on front of box. 3. Remove the air cleaner box lid by sliding it forward, and then up, and out of the factory intake tube. 4. Remove factory air filter from air cleaner box. 5. Remove, and set aside the oil filler cap. Use caution not to drop anything into engine while cap is off. 6. OVERVIEW: VEHICLE 1 Using a 10mm socket with ratchet, loosen the nut and remove the negative battery cable from the negative post of the battery. 2 Using a 10mm socket with ratchet, remove the grounding bolt from the inner fender. This grounding bolt is located on the drivers’ inner fender behind the battery as shown in Figure B. 3 Using a 10mm socket with ratchet, remove the two bolts holding the windshield washer reservoir. 4 Lift the reservoir out of its place and unplug the green washer pump connector from the washer pump at the bottom of the reservoir. 5 Locate and disconnect the two front wiring harness plugs (E2 and E3). 1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section. 2. Remove or disconnect the following: • Negative battery cable • Transfer case, if equipped • Transmission 1 • Pressure plate. Loosen the bolts evenly in /2 turn steps. • Clutch disc To install: 1. Install or connect the following: • Clutch disc and pressure plate. Tighten the pressure plate bolts evenly in /2 turns to 23 ft. lbs. (31 Nm) for 2.4L and 2.5L engines; 37 ft. lbs. (50 Nm) for 4.0L engines. • Transmission • Transfer case, if equipped • Negative battery cable

Removal All Vehicles
1. Remove the rear door interior trim panel. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
2. Remove the access hole watershield.
3. Reconnect the window regulator and window switch electrical connectors and position the front door window to access the glass clamp bolt.
4. Disconnect the window regulator and window switch electrical connectors
5. Loosen the window glass clamp bolt.

1999-2000 SUSPENSION’ ‘Front Removal (Except Odyssey & S2000)
1. Loosen lug nuts with vehicle weight on tires. Pry lock tab away from spindle nut, and loosen nut. Raise and support vehicle. Remove lug nuts and spindle nut. Remove wheel assembly. Remove brake hose mounting bolts, caliper assembly, and support aside. DO NOT put weight on flexible brake line.
2. Remove brake disc retaining screws. Install two 8 x 1.25-mm bolts in brake disc, and tighten bolts to force brake disc from hub. Alternate tightening of bolts to prevent brake disc from binding on hub. Disconnect ABS wheel sensor (if equipped) from steering knuckle and set aside. DO NOT disconnect sensor connector. Remove cotter pin and nut from tie rod end.

1. Remove the auxiliary battery. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
2. Remove the cooling fan stator. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
3. Remove the degas bottle. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
4. Disconnect the upper radiator hose.

This timing belt installation is supported for Lexus 3.0L V6 – 1999-03 ES300. Removal (ES 300)
1. Raise and support vehicle. Remove right side front wheel. Remove right fender apron seal. Remove accessory drive belts. Lower vehicle. Disconnect engine coolant reservoir hose from water outlet. Disconnect ground strap connectors. 2. Remove engine moving control rod and engine mounting bracket No. 2 (right side), located near timing belt cover. Remove generator-to-engine bracket for access to timing belt covers. 3. Using Pulley Holder (09213-54015) or equivalent and Handle (09330-00021) or equivalent, hold crankshaft pulley. Remove crankshaft pulley bolt. Using puller, remove crankshaft pulley. Remove No. 1 and No. 2 timing belt covers and gaskets. See Fig. 1 . Remove (more…)
For rear disc pad removal and installation, DO NOT disconnect brake hose from caliper (wire aside). Replace all pads on an axle if wear indicator on any pad contacts rotor or if pad is worn to within .03″ (.8 mm) of pad backing.
Removal (”A”, “B”, “C”, “K” & “U” Series)
1. Remove 2/3 of brake fluid from master cylinder reservoir. Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheel. Using “C” clamp, compress caliper piston until it bottoms out in its bore.

FITTING
1. Remove Bumper (remove boot floor mat and side storage boxes, remove the 2 nuts inside each wheel arch beneath light clusters, remove the rear plastic panel and the plastic grommets to reveal 1 nut each side, remove nut taking care not to drop it inside. Remove the 2 fixings along the lower edge of bumper and the 3 screws around each wheel arch.
2. Cut Bumper as shown below
3. Remove inner bumper beam complete with mounting arms and discard.
4. Insert Side Arms (D) and (E) into chassis rails (remove tape covering forward mounting points) and loosely attach using Bolts (F). Note: To gain access to forward hole (F) it may be necessary to lower exhaust and heat shield.

Step 1: Raise the entire front of the car and secure it with jack stands. Never work under a car supported only by a hydraulic floor jack. Check your owner’s manual for proper placement of floor jacks and jack stands. If you live in an area where rust is a concern liberal use of penetrating fluid will be necessary and may increase the installation difficult. If you have any concerns, please consult with a professional.
