Getting started
Make sure vehicle is parked on a level surface. Set parking brake. Disconnect negative battery terminal. If engine has run within the past two hours let it cool down.

This performance kit installation steps on Audi A3: 1. Disconnect the negative terminal from the vehicle battery. 2. Remove the plastic engine cover. (Fig. 1) 3. Unclip & remove the engine breather hose from the intake pipe. (Fig. 2) 4. Remove the small vacuum hose from under the breather hose on the intake pipe. Follow the vacuum hose & remove the hose from the inlet manifold. Blank off the pipe on the manifold using the small rubber cap supplied. (Fig. 3) 5. Remove the small rubber hose from the side of the intake pipe as shown. (Fig. 4) 6. Unclip & remove the auxiliary air pump feed pipe from the air box as shown. (Fig. 5) 7. 1. Vehicle Disassembly. (a) Remove the negative battery cable. (Fig. 1-1) (1) Protect the fender before starting. (2) Do not touch the positive terminal with any tool removing the cable. (b) Remove the glove box under-dash cover. (Fig. 1-2) (c) Remove the passenger’s step cover. (Fig. 1-3) (d) Remove the passenger’s cowl cover. (Fig. 1-4) (1) Remove one nut securing the cowl cover. (e) Remove one screw and one bolt from the glove box assembly. (Fig. 1-5) (f) Remove the glove box assembly. (Fig. 1-6) (1) Open the glove box door and remove three screws securing the glove box assembly. (2) Disconnect the trunk opener cancel switch from the glove box assembly if equipped. For vehicles with Smart Entry, the disassembly process ends on Step f. Go to Section 5. For vehicles without Smart Entry, continue the disassembly process. 1. Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery.
2. Remove the plastic cover from the air box assembly.
3. Remove the air box feed pipe from between the air box lid & slam panel intake scoop.
4. Unclip & remove the electrical harness plug from the MAS (Mass Air Sensor).
5. Unclip & remove the intake hose from the MAS.
6. Unclip the 3 hoses from the top of the air box assembly.
7. Unbolt & remove the two ignition amplifiers from the top of the air box lid.

TO START the Installation:
1. Turn the ignition OFF and disconnect the vehicle’s negative battery cable.
2. Remove the four 13mm nuts that secure the strut toner brace to vehicle, then remove brace from vehicle.
3. Squeeze the two locking tabs together, then remove the mass air electrical connection as shown.
4. Loosen the hose clamp at the intake plenum and release the two clips that secure the air box lid to vehicle, then remove the upper air box and intake tube as shown.

1. Unclip and remove the MAS (Mass Air Sensor) from the intake hoses.
2. Unclip and remove the electrical harness plug from the MAS and remove the MAS from the car.
