Severe Driving Conditions
- Driving less than 5 miles (8 km) per trip in freezing temperatures, or driving less than 10 miles (16 km) per trip.
- Driving in extremely hot (over 90 ºF/32 ºC) conditions.
- Extensive idling, or long periods of stop-and-go driving, such as a taxi or a commercial delivery vehicle.
- Driving on muddy, dusty, or de-iced roads.

Service at the indicated distance or time, whichever comes first. Do the items as listed for each interval. Follow the schedule below for normal driving conditions; for severe conditions, follow the schedule on the other side. A – Replace engine oil (use Honda 5W-20 Motor Oil). Drain oil, replace drain bolt washer, and torque bolt: D17A2 engine, 29 lb–ft; D17A1 engine, 33 lb–ft. Capacity without filter: D17A2 engine, 3.5 qt; D17A1 engine, 3.2 qt. Capacity with filter: D17A2 engine, 3.7 qt; D17A1 engine, 3.4 qt. – Rotate tires: criss-cross for non-directional tires/wheels; front-to-rear for directional. Torque wheel nuts to 80 lb-ft. Check tire inflation with a gauge (30 psi), and visually check for wear, cuts, bulges, nails, etc.

A: Replace oil filter and engine oil with synthetic blend oil.
B: Rotate tires–Check tire pressure and condition Inspect front and rear brakes. Check pads and discs for wear (thichness), damage, and cracks. *Check calipers for damage and leaks, and tightness of mount bolts. *Check brake linings for cracking, glazing, wear or contamination. – Inspect tie-rods ends and boots. *Check steering linkage. *Check boots for damage and leaking grease. *Check fluid lines for damage and leaks. Inspect suspension components. *Check condition of ball joint boots for cracks and bands for tightness. Top off washer fluid
