Check and record all codes and actions of your transmission before transmission is removed. This will help if you still have problems after installation. Damage to your transmission may have been caused from some other external source.

AUTOMATIC FWD MODELS REMOVAL
1) Remove battery and battery tray. On 3000GT, remove undercover(s). On Eclipse turbo, drain and remove intercooler. On all models, remove air cleaner and case. Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheels. Disconnect control cables at transaxle. Drain transaxle fluid.
2) On Mirage 1.6L, disconnect tension rod. On all models, disconnect neutral safety switch connector, oil cooler hoses and electrical connectors from transaxle. Disconnect speedometer cable and throttle control cable (if equipped). Remove starter motor.
3) On Galant models with electronically controlled suspension, remove air compressor and bracket. Disconnect front height sensor rod at lower control arm.

Removal
1) Remove battery and battery tray. On Diamante, Stealth and 3000GT, remove undercover(s). On turbo models, drain and remove intercooler. On all models, remove air cleaner and case. Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheels. Disconnect control cables at transaxle. Drain transaxle fluid.
2) On Mirage 1.8L, disconnect tension rod. On all models, disconnect neutral safety switch connector, oil cooler hoses and electrical connectors from transaxle. Disconnect speedometer cable and throttle control cable (if equipped). Remove starter motor.
3) On models equipped with electronically controlled suspension, remove air compressor and bracket. Disconnect front height sensor rod at lower control arm.

COWL TOP VENT PANEL
1. Remove windshield wiper pivot arms. Remove cowl top vent panel retaining screws. Release cowl top
vent panel retaining clips. Remove windshield wiper fluid hose. Remove cowl top vent panel.
2. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten bolts and nuts to specification. See TORQUE
SPECIFICATIONS INTAKE MANIFOLD

Neon Front Door Instructions:
1. Using a pick tool pry open the screw cover behind the interior door release lever and remove the screw.
2. Remove the screws in the armrest pocket and at the top of the door near the front.
3. For models with manual windows use a window crank removal tool to disengage the pin securing the window
crank and pull the window crank from the door. The triangle shaped piece that houses the side mirror
adjustment control lever will need to be pulled away from the door. Using a panel removal tool gently pry
the bottom of the plastic away from the door to release the fasteners and let it hang by the mirror control cables.

• EGR SYSTEM: This manifold will not accept stock EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) equipment. EGR systems are used on some 1972 and later model vehicles and only in some states. Check local laws for requirements. Not legal in California on pollution-controlled motor vehicles.
• MANIFOLD: This manifold will not accept any O.E.M. carburetor systems. We recommend that you use the carburetors listed in the carburetor recommendations.
