On a vehicle with IR system the immobilizer (decoder) and remote-key (PLIP) are dependant of each other (exept later IR
systems with KRS). This means that the remote in addition to controlling doors it also verifies the key and opens the
immobilizer to allow the vehicle to start.
On a vehicle with IR or RF system with KRS, the remote-key (PLIP) and immobilizer are independent systems where the
immobilizer is controlled by a small Transponder Chip inside the key head and an antenna ring around the ignition that
checks the Transponder Chip when the key is in the ignition and turned on. The IR or RF part is only for remote
controlling the doors wich means that synchronized keys (working PLIP) will not solve any non starting problems due to
blocked immobiliser. The battery inside the key only affects the PLIP function as the KRS is not dependant of batteries.
The KRS type (on IR keys) can be recognized by opening the PLIP and the Transponder Chip is seen as a square black
unit separate from the electronic printboard (PLIP electronics).

Tests/Procedures: 1. Ground the Violet/Yellow wire (disarm circuit) that goes to either front door and the theft alarm module. Have the keys out of the ignition and all doors closed when grounding the wire. This should disarm the theft alarm system and prevent the theft alarm from arming. 2. Check that the interior lights do not stay on due to the wire being grounded. If they do, the illuminated entry relay will need to be removed or another method of disabling the theft alarm will have to be used. 3. Another method if the theft alarm module is faulty would be to disconnect the module and replace the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) with a new one.

Aside from styling changes, the 2006 WRX features 17 inch tires and a new engine. The old 2.0 litre turbo four-cylinder boxer engine has been replaced by a 2.5 litre turbo. The WRX comes in sedan and wagon versions. Automatic transmission isn’t available with the wagon.
Inside and trunk
Although the car rides low, getting in and out the front is easy; rear access is more awkward because the doors open so narrowly. The front seats are very comfortable and hold passengers in place well with their side-hugging lateral supports. Heavier passengers will feel a little cramped, however. The driver enjoys an excellent driving position.

The GMRC-03 is designed to be used in Cadillac’s that do not have Onstar or amplified systems. It will retain the warning chimes that are lost when the factory radio is removed. The GMRC-03 will also provide a 12 volt switched accessory wire for proper radio operation. *Note: The GMRC-03 can be used in Cadillac’s that come with a factory amplifier; however the factory amplifier must be bypassed and the speaker wires on the GMRC-03 must not be used. Running new wires to the speakers is recommended. If the Cadillac also has Onstar, that feature will be lost.

Operating Instructions:
IMPORTANT: Your vehicle must be parked and engine turned off before connecting the programmer into your vehicle’s OBD-II port.
Turn off all accessories and electronics prior to connecting the programmer into your vehicle’s OBD-II port.
Any interference during the programming process (for example, opening or closing of your vehicle’s doors) may cause a communication error with your vehicle’s PCM and will result in your vehicle not starting!
Only program your vehicle in a location where you are comfortable to avoid potentially stressful situations if programming error(s) occur.
Do not perform any procedures with the programmer while your vehicle is running (except for OBD-II diagnostics).
