Engine noisy – Too Much Fuel Pressure or fuel delivery code
1) Cause: Check fuse is good and in controller’s fuse holder securely, and all power connections are secure, including connectors for both pumps are fully plugged in.
2) Lift pump pressure supplying both CP3 pumps pressure too high. Supply pressure from lift pump should not exceed 12-15 psi.

To begin, Remove the Negative battery cable, your throttle body cover, and intake and set them aside. Using your fan clutch removal tool, or wrench and screwdriver, remove the nut holding the fan to the water pump. On the Sport Trac it is standard right hand thread. Once it is off, be careful not let it hit the radiator, or this could cause damage. Now remove the 2 10mm bolts holding the fan shroud to the radiator. Now remove the fan and shroud as 1 piece. Once removed, there should be a nice sized gap in your engine bay.

1. Peel the protective vinyl coating off of the top and bottom brackets and attach them to the fan shroud with the screws provided as shown.
2. Hold the fan assembly so that it is approximately centered over the radiator core. The long 6mm bolts will be used in the slots of the bottom bracket with the threaded end pointing down. The threaded end of the bolts, with rubber caps placed over the ends, will slide into the holes on the bottom of the radiator. Determine which set of slots you will use by looking at which slots line up over the holes. This fan kit is designed to accomodate both the OEM radiator as well as popular aftermarket radiators. These bolts may go in the inside or outside slots on the bottom brackets depending on which radiator you have. Leave these loose for now – you will need to tighten them after you install the fan assembly.

REMOVAL 1. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER 2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT 3. DISCONNECT UPPER RADIATOR HOSE 4. DISCONNECT PS PUMP FROM ENGINE (a) Disconnect the 2 PS air hoses from the air intake chamber and resonator. (b) Remove the bolt holding the PS pressure tube clamp to the frame. (c) Remove the drive belt (See page SR–3). (d) Remove the bolt and nut, and disconnect the PS pump from the engine. 5. DISCONNECT A/C COMPRESSOR FROM ENGINE (a) Disconnect the A/C compressor connector. (b) Remove the drive belt (See page AC–17). Removal Timing Belt(Esteem)
1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove right side engine under cover. Remove power steering and A/C compressor drive belts. 2. Remove A/C compressor and power steering pump with hoses attached, and secure out of way. Support engine from above or with floor jack under oil pan. Remove air cleaner case with air cleaner outlet hose. 3. From timing belt end of engine, remove engine mount and mounting bracket. Loosen water pump pulley bolts. Remove water pump drive belt and pulley. 4. Remove 5 crankshaft pulley-to-crankshaft bolts. Remove pulley. It is NOT necessary to remove crankshaft center bolt. Remove timing belt cover. See Fig. 1 . 5. Rotate crankshaft clockwise to align timing marks. See Fig. 2 and Fig. 3 . Stamped “E” on camshaft sprocket must point straight up. Loosen timing belt tensioner bolt and stud nut. Move tensioner away from belt, and hand tighten bolt and nut. See Fig. 4 . 6. If reusing old belt, mark belt with an arrow indicating direction of rotation for installation reference. Remove timing belt.

Remove the heat exchanger from its carton and inspect for any obvious physical damage. All kit components are thoroughly inspected and carefully packaged prior to shipment from the factory. If any shipping damage is evident, contact your supplier and request that they process a claim with the shipper involved. Be sure to review the parts list on page 3 to verify that you have all necessary system components to proceed. If any components in the parts list are missing, contact Turbonetics’ customer service staff.

1. Turn the ignition OFF and disconnect the vehicle’s negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the air temp. sensor electrical connection.
3. Loosen the hose clamps at the turbo inlet and the airbox outlet as shown.
4. Remove the intake tube from the vehicle as shown.
5. Loosen and remove the 10mm nut that retains the airbox to the vehicle.
6. Remove the complete airbox assembly from the vehicle as shown.
7. Remove the airbox mounting grommet as shown.
8. Install the large “L” bracket onto the heat shield with the provided hardware. NOTE: Do not tighten completely.

Before beginning this installation, take a few minutes to preread these instructions. Check that all necessary materials, units and accessory kits that are listed in the application guide are on hand. It is imperative for proper engine operation and vehicle life that adequate engine cooling is provided (i.e. fan shroud and/or large fan). Also check the vehicle weight capacity as listed on the vehicle certification label. Advice is hereby given by the vehicle manufacturer that for proper driving and handling, the reserve weight capacity not be exceeded, refer to the manufacturer recommended sizing guide
