Installation of this baseplate requires drilling 17/32” holes in the vehicle’s frame.
1. Read the General Instruction Sheet included with this baseplate.
2. The baseplate bolts to the bottom of the frame behind the bumper using six bolts supplied with the baseplate. Use of Loctite to secure the bolts is highly recommended. The vibrations and stresses of towing can cause bolts to loosen even with lock washers in the assembly.

Preparing Vertical Side Panels for the Panzer Plate
1. First, on level ground, raise the front of the car evenly. To do this, you may choose to drive the car onto ramps, jack the car up and secure with two jack stands or use a car lift. If using jack stands or ramps be sure to chock the rear wheels and place the car in gear and firmly apply the handbrake. You should also wear safety goggles during this entire procedure.
2. Once the car is safely raised, remove the Original Equipment Audi plastic belly pan if your car still has one. Next, on the driver side, remove the rear T25 Torx screw from the tail end of the plastic vertical engine bay side panel. In order for the Panzer skid plate to fit, the mounting spot on the subframe where the side panel attaches must not have a Torx screw or side panel attached to it. Retain the T25 Torx screws for the final skid plate install.

If the truck is equipped with tow hooks, remove the tow hook bolts, and tow hook before installing the PUSH BEAM SUPORT PALTES. Using M14 x 2.00 Hex Head Bolts and M14 Lock Washers provided, bolt the PUSH BEAM SUPPORT PLATES through the outside of the frame. Next use ―” – 13 x 1- ―” Hex Head Bolts, ―” Flat Washers, and ―” – 13 Hex Head Self Locking Nuts to bolt the PUSH BEAM SUPPORT PLATES through the bottom of the frame. Tow hooks may be relocated under the PUSH BEAM SUPPORT PLATES and reattached. Fasteners should only be finger tight.

1. Start by supporting the car on 4 jack stands. The car should be sitting on approximately the same angle as it does on the ground, or slightly lower in front.
2. Remove all the old front suspension components. Note that on the underside of the frame are the two rubber axle snubbers (or the holes for them, if they are missing) directly above the axle. Mark them for later reference.
3. We would recommend that at this point, you tack weld or clamp a temporary brace across the frame rails in front of the old crossmember as shown in
Figure 1. This helps to maintain the rail dimension after the old crossmember is removed.
