INSTALLATION OF HOTCHKIS FRONT STABILIZER BAR
1) Please look at the original front antiroll bar and note the orientation of the front bar. You will want to install the new Hotchkis bar in the same manner.
2) Securely block the rear wheels of the vehicle. Use a jack to raise the vehicle and support with jack stands.
3) Remove the factory plastic undertrays from the car with a 10mm socket on the bolts, and a small screwdriver to pry open the plastic trim plugs.
4) Disconnect the endlink from the stabilizer bar using a 14mm wrench.
5) Using a 14mm socket and extension, remove the factory frame brackets. Then remove the stock bar from the vehicle.

Hotchkis Tuning recommends that this sway bar set be installed by a professional, as the front sway bar can only be removed or installed by detaching the front engine cradle and lowering it from the vehicle!
Tools required for this installation:
- Hydraulic jack, jack stands, torque wrench
- The following sockets or wrenches: 12mm, 14mm, 17mm, 19mm
▪ The following Allen wrenches: 6mm
- Suggested tools: 6” socket extension, swivel ratchet

The mounting procedure outlined below covers the 1997-2002 Jeep Wrangler. Note that a
Front Gross Axle Rating (FGAWR) of 2500 lbs. is required. A suspension upgrade and additional
ballast may be necessary. You will need to refer to the illustrations and familiarize yourself with each
of the undercarriage components and their relative position to each other. Then proceed as follows:
Begin by removing the four screws that hold the plastic “Jeep” valance in place above the
bumper. Keep these screws as they will need to be reinstalled.

Please read instructions thoroughly and completely before beginning installation. Installation by a trained mechanic is recommended
Step 1: Position truck on a flat surface and lift vehicle by the frame so that the front wheels are off the ground using a floor jack and jack stands or a (2) two post lift if available and remove the front wheels and tires
Locate the front sway bar and unbolt the lower end link. (Do this on both sides of vehicle).
Next locate the lower track bar mount on the passenger side of the vehicle and unbolt from axel.
Step 2: Place an index mark on the stock coil and a matching one on the lower coil pocket . This will allow you to replace the coils in the stock location Next locate the upper shock mounts (they are located in the engine compartment) and remove the upper shock hardware. Next remove the 3 nuts from the upper shock mounts (Do this on both sides of truck). Now remove the lower shock mounting bolts and remove the shocks by pulling them up through the engine compartment. (Do this on both sides of truck)
