In 1993 Chrysler has improved security in their Double-Bitted locking system. All 1993 vehicles will utilize a new key groove (78 primary, 79 vallet), the change in key groove will initiate a keyway restricted vallet system and new J-Series codes. A seventh tumbler has been added to the ignitions. To continue giving your customers the quality service their use to, the following should be noted when servicing the 1993 vehicles:
• Some new component parts have been added to the line, old component parts remain unchanged. (Tumblers, Caps, Shutters, Springs, Pawls, Shafts)
• New lock service packages will be required for 1993.

Flange Requirements:
DEI’s resilient seated (RS) valves are designed for installation between ANSI Class 125/150 flat or raised faced flanges. Gaskets are not required. Lined pipe, heavy wall pipe or flanges must have a minimum allowable inside diameter at the centered body face to clear the disc sealing edge when opening the valve.
Storage:
The valves should be stored on a pallet or “skid” in a clean, dry warehouse. If the valves must be stored outside, the following apply:
1. Valves must be kept off the ground high enough to avoid standing water.
2. Cover the valves with a water repellant cover (not included with valve).

The following instructions begin after the timing cover and old timing set have been removed.
Installing the timing set and degreeing the camshaft will be easier if you loosen the rocker arms so that the camshaft can turn freely. You should be able to turn the camshaft by hand. Make sure that the engine mounting surfaces and your new timing set have been thoroughly cleaned with a good solvent. If you are using a timing set with three keyways, select the appropriate keyway for your camshaft timing specifications. COMP Cams ® recommends the standard timing position for most applications. This position uses the round or “O” timing and keyway marks. Standard Timing Location: This is the same as original O.E.M. setting. Use keyway and crankshaft gear tooth marked “O”.
