Transmission Service with the 1524 Transmission Flusher
The number one reason for transmission failure is fluid breakdown. Over time, the automatic transmission fluid (ATF) becomes contaminated and loses its viscosity and the ability to lubricate the moving parts within the transmission. Conventional service methods of dropping the pan and changing the filter result in only about 30-40% of the total ATF in the transmission being drained out. That leaves 60-70% of the old ATF to be mixed with the new ATF introduced during service. Therefore, adequate lubrication is not achieved.

VW captured major attention and significant sales when it brought out its New Beetle in 1998. As the Bug’s popularity
began to flag, new versions such as the Turbo S were unveiled. But what could generate renewed interest more than a
convertible model? When the droptop Bug hit the streets in 2002, heads were turning and wallets were being reached for
once again. The Beetle convertible comes in GL and GLS trim levels. As with other VWs, the GLX model has been
discontinued for 2004. The GL and GLS can be equipped with a 115-hp, 2.0-liter four-cylinder or a 150-hp, 1.8-liter
turbocharged inline four. A five-speed manual transmission is standard, and a six-speed automatic is optional. New color
combinations are added for 2004-along with new wheels-and a Monsoon audio system is now standard on the GLS. The
power top comes down in 13 seconds.

The Pathfinder was first launched in 1987 as a derivative of Nissan’s pickup truck line. Available initially as a two-door, it was joined by a four-door version in 1990, which has been the sole body style since 1991. The original Pathfinder changed very little on the outside during its life, but was treated to a new dash and interior design in 1994. Whereas the first-generation Pathfinder was a body-on-frame design, the all-new 1996 Pathfinder featured unibody construction. In mid-1999, the Pathfinder, designated as a 1999.5 model, was face-lifted and moved upmarket. Nissan slotted its new Frontier pickup-based body-on-frame Xterra into the space in the lineup vacated by the old base model Pathfinder.
