This how-to is based on my experience in replacing the rear wheel bearing on my 2000 2.5RS. I believe it is one of the more difficult setups to work with, because of the e-brake and lateral link bolt. Overall, this should be very similar to whatever car you have. There are different ways of doing this, many people prefer to simply take the whole knuckle to a shop, have everything pressed out and new stuff pressed in. The method covered here does not require you to remove the knuckle from the car.

To begin, Remove the Negative battery cable, your throttle body cover, and intake and set them aside. Using your fan clutch removal tool, or wrench and screwdriver, remove the nut holding the fan to the water pump. On the Sport Trac it is standard right hand thread. Once it is off, be careful not let it hit the radiator, or this could cause damage. Now remove the 2 10mm bolts holding the fan shroud to the radiator. Now remove the fan and shroud as 1 piece. Once removed, there should be a nice sized gap in your engine bay.

Supplemental Restraint System SRS (a) Failure to carry out procedures listed below could result in possible deployment of airbag, personal injury, or unnecessary repairs to SRS. (b) Turn the key switch to the LOCK position. (Fig. 1) (c) Remove the key from the ignition switch. (d) Disconnect the negative battery cable. (Fig. 2) (e) Never use a voltmeter to trouble shoot any of Accidentally probing the connectors to the SRS can lead to deployment of the airbag. (Fig 3) (f) SRS wire harness loom/cover is bright yellow in color.

Introduction: Remove/Install rear sub-frame bushes in Mondeo. Can be used in situ – no need to remove sub-frame from vehicle. Applications: Ford Mondeo 2001, 10/2000 onwards
3.1 Ensure that the vehicle is adequately supported on axle stands before working under the vehicle.
3.2 Although there is no need to remove the sub-frame from the vehicle it will be necessary to lower it to gain access to both sides of the bush housing.

1. Vehicle Disassembly. (a) Remove the negative battery cable. (Fig. 1-1) (1) Protect the fender before starting. (2) Do not touch the positive terminal with any tool removing the cable. (b) Remove the glove box under-dash cover. (Fig. 1-2) (c) Remove the passenger’s step cover. (Fig. 1-3) (d) Remove the passenger’s cowl cover. (Fig. 1-4) (1) Remove one nut securing the cowl cover. (e) Remove one screw and one bolt from the glove box assembly. (Fig. 1-5) (f) Remove the glove box assembly. (Fig. 1-6) (1) Open the glove box door and remove three screws securing the glove box assembly. (2) Disconnect the trunk opener cancel switch from the glove box assembly if equipped. For vehicles with Smart Entry, the disassembly process ends on Step f. Go to Section 5. For vehicles without Smart Entry, continue the disassembly process. Front Door Installation for Magnum, Charger, 300C
1. Using a pick tool pry open the screw covers behind the interior door release lever and below the
arm rest and remove the screws. Fig. 1
2. Remove the four screws securing the door panel along the bottom. Fig. 1
3. Using the end of a Phillips screwdriver gently depress the center pin of the three plastic retainers
securing the door panel. The center pin of the plastic retainer should depress approximately 1/8”
and allow the retainer to be removed from the door panel. The two uppermost retainers do not
need to be removed in order to remove the door panel. Fig. 2

This set of two tools allows swift removal of the lock plug from many newer Ford and GM glove compartments. The FPR-2 spreads the plastic retaining arms with minimal risk of breakage, pushing out the plug safely. This operation is necessary when obtaining correct code information. Ford, GM, and many European models including Audi, Saab, and VW utilize this mounting method.
