If you own a 5.0L Mustang, you already know of the tremendous horsepower potential that the small block 302 has. Adding a turbocharger to your Mustang will increase its horsepower by 35 to 50% alone without other modifications.
As the author of this guide, I can testify that the above paragraph is true and correct. In 1994, I purchased a beautiful arrest-me red Mustang GT 5-speed. I was pleased with the power and acceleration that this car. This was not my first Mustang, I previously owned a very well maintained 1990 GT that I kept in stock form. Back to the 1994 GT. In my quest for horsepower, I installed an NOS dry system on the car. I was pleased with my new found power, however I was displeased with the fact that I needed to re-fill the bottle frequently. I wanted a true street performer with power on tap any time I pushed the go pedal to the mat.
I quickly dropped the nitrous for a Paxton supercharger. Again, I was pleased with the performance, but not completely satisfied. The power came on late in the RPM range, and I knew that the Paxton left a lot of low-end torque and power on the table. After two weeks with the Paxton, I turned to a single turbo kit for the SN95 Mustang, and a monster was born.
