Remove Factory Radio
STEP 1: Locate and remove two (2) phillips screws that secure the top of the plastic panel that covers the radio and air conditioner controls. They should be located next to the air conditioner vent levers directly above the (2) air conditioner vents. Pull the plastic panel gently from the top to remove it from the dash.
STEP 2: The radio will be held in with two (2) 7mm bolt screws; one on each side of the radio. Remove both.
STEP 3: To remove the radio, pull firmly. Unplug all connectors (1 blue, 1 white, 1 black) from the rear of the radio. Unplug the antenna cable from the rear of the radio. The radio is now free to be removed from the dash panel.
STEP 4: Since the opening is so big in the dash, The Install Doctor recommends using the plastic mounting bracket attached to the bottom of the radio just removed.
This bracket can then be attached to the bottom of the plastic radio installation kit and assure that this kit is properly aligned and secured to the dash.

The GMRC-03 is designed to be used in Cadillac’s that do not have Onstar or amplified systems. It will retain the warning chimes that are lost when the factory radio is removed. The GMRC-03 will also provide a 12 volt switched accessory wire for proper radio operation. *Note: The GMRC-03 can be used in Cadillac’s that come with a factory amplifier; however the factory amplifier must be bypassed and the speaker wires on the GMRC-03 must not be used. Running new wires to the speakers is recommended. If the Cadillac also has Onstar, that feature will be lost.

This blower motor has undergone some changes in design so the installation procedures have also changed. The original motor was a two piece motor and the wheel was secured with a set screw. GM changed the design to a one piece unit with a fiberglass heat shield and the wheel is pressed on. On some of the models you may need to remove the front cradle bolts so the engine can be rocked forward. This will help keep the valve cover from interfering with the blower motor replacement. On all models; disconnect the negative battery cable.

Exhaust System Removal:
For ease of installation and safety concerns, the use of a lift is recommended and be sure to wear safety glasses.
Prior to installation, be sure vehicle is parked on a level surface and the exhaust system is cool.
1) After your vehicle is properly secured and there is enough clearance to work from under the vehicle, the first step is to remove the oxygen sensor located between the catalytic converter and the center muffler – (See Fig. A). Use a 7/8-inch open-end wrench to remove the threaded sensor.
2) The next step is to determine where to cut the connecting pipe between the catalytic converter and center muffler. Using a tape measure, measure from the front edge of the catalytic converter flange (See Fig. C) back 20 INCHES for the STS or 18-1/2 INCHES for the DTS and mark the connecting pipe.
NOTE: Recheck your measurement
