REMOVAL & INSTALLATION the GM Full-Size Trucks Fuel Injectors
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Relieve the fuel system pressure.
3. Disengage the fuel meter body electrical connection and the fuel feed and return hoses from the engine fuel pipes.
4. Remove the upper manifold assembly.
5. Tag and remove the poppet nozzle out of the casting socket.
6. Remove the fuel meter body by releasing the locktabs. Each injector is calibrated. When replacing the fuel injectors, be sure to replace it with the correct injector.

The intake manifold assembly is a two-piece design. The upper portion is made from a composite material and the lower portion
is cast-aluminum. The throttle body attaches to the upper manifold. The lower manifold has an Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR)
port cast into the manifold for mixture of exhaust gases with the fuel and air mixture. The EGR valve bolts into the lower intake
manifold.

1. Module Installation: You will need to run the wiring harness thru the firewall and attach your power module to the harness inside the cab of your truck. Place the module under the dash out of the way
of your pedals.
2. Data Link Connection: The Data Link connector is located in different locations based on the year of the truck.
98.5-99: The triangle shaped connector is located on the driver’s side of the engine in the wiring harness near the power steering pump.
2000-2002: The three prong flat connector is located on the top of the fuel lift pump that is located on the driver’s side of the engine directly below the map sensor.
Note: on some 2001 trucks the connector is located on the driver’s side of the engine in the wiring harness near the power steering pump.

Module Installation
1. The Edge EZ Module can mount on the flat black plastic fuse box cover located on the driver’s side fender. Adhere the module using the supplied velcro, allowing enough harness movement for removal of the cover. Data Link Connection
2. The Data Link connector is located in different locations based on the
year of the truck:
• 98.5-99 the triangle shaped connector is located on the drivers side of the engine in the wiring harness near the power steering pump
• 2000-2001 the three prong flat connector is located on top of the fuel lift pump that is located on the driver’s side of the engine directly below the MAP sensor, note: on some 2001 truck’s the connector is located on the drivers side of the engine in the wiring harness near the power steering pump
3. A plug is installed in the data link connector on the truck to resist corrosion, remove this and install the supplied connector.

Ford provides NO procedure to replace the Camshaft Position Sensor without the special tool shown in this article.
CAUTION: Syncro Positioning Tool T95T-12200-A (303-529) must be obtained prior to installation of the replacement synchronizer assembly. Failure to follow this procedure will result in the fuel system being out of time with the engine, possibly causing engine damage.

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) has developed a rain-light sensor that controls the auto- light system and the rain-sensitive wiper system. It is installed in the new GALANT FORTIS. The rain-light sensor controls the headlamps and windshield wipers, sending an activation request to ETACS(1) (Electronic Time and Alarm Control System). This data consists of vehicle information from ETACS, ambient light intensity, front light intensity and raindrop detection. Regarding the auto-light function, the rain-light sensor distinguishes between entering a tunnel and passing under a bridge, using front and ambient illumination sensors. It prevents the headlamps from blinking when the vehicle passes under a bridge. The rain-sensitive wipers have newly designed lenses to ensure uniform distribution of sensitivity for raindrops and improve the timing for the first wipe when there are fewer raindrops on the windshield glass.

Crankcase emission control equipment is separated into two different systems: Positive
Crankcase Ventilation (PVC) and Crankcase Ventilation System (CCV). The systems perform
the same function, differing only in the way the exhaust gases are metered. The PVC system uses
a valve, containing spring loaded plunger, which meters the amount of crankcase vapors routed
to the combustion chamber based on manifold vacuum. The CCV system contains a metered
orifice of a calibrated size which meters the amount of crankcase vapors drawn from the engine
based on manifold vacuum.
