This timing belt installation is supported for Lexus 3.0L V6 – 1999-03 ES300. Removal (ES 300)
1. Raise and support vehicle. Remove right side front wheel. Remove right fender apron seal. Remove accessory drive belts. Lower vehicle. Disconnect engine coolant reservoir hose from water outlet. Disconnect ground strap connectors. 2. Remove engine moving control rod and engine mounting bracket No. 2 (right side), located near timing belt cover. Remove generator-to-engine bracket for access to timing belt covers. 3. Using Pulley Holder (09213-54015) or equivalent and Handle (09330-00021) or equivalent, hold crankshaft pulley. 2. Remove the distributor, and valve cover from the engine. Use caution not to drop anything into the engine.

Removal 1. CAUTION: The No. 1 cylinder must be set on top dead center (TDC) of the compression stroke or the synchronizer assembly will not be installed correctly. CAUTION: Do not turn the crankshaft or the camshaft during the removal and installation procedure or the fuel system timing will be out of time with the engine and possibly cause engine damage. Rotate the crankshaft until the No. 1 cylinder is at TDC of the compression stroke and the TDC mark lines up with the timing mark.

The installation of the AEM ECU on the 1995-1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse Turbo / Eagle Talon Tsi uses the stock sensors and actuators. The base map is automatically installed in the base calibrations directory in the AEMPro directory on your computer.
Full details of the test vehicle used to generate this map can be found in the files notes section. However, while the base map is a good starting point and may save you considerable time and money, it will not replace the need to tune your specific application. It is not intended to be driven aggressively. Ignoring this can and will damage your engine.

The VS171 twin cam setting/locking tool kit has been designed for use on multi-valve engines (twin cam) to lock the camshafts, which are under pressure from compressed valve springs, from rotating out of their timing positions when the timing belt is removed. If the camshafts are allowed to move from their timing position possible damage to the inlet and exhaust valves may occur due to contact with the piston crown. By locking the camshafts in position it will allow easier replacement of the drive belt and reduce the risk of incorrect valve timing from taking place.
