The AEM Cold Air System is the result of extensive development on a wide variety of cars.
Each system is engineered for the particular application. The AEM Cold Air System differs from
all others in several ways. We take the inlet air from outside of the engine compartment where
the inlet air is considerably cooler than the hot under hood air. The cooler inlet air temperature
translates to more power during the combustion process because cool air is denser than warm
air. AEM has conducted extensive inlet air temperature studies and we have seen temperature
reductions of up to 50 degrees by pulling air from outside of the engine compartment. The air
mass flow to the engine is increased because of the increased airflow and reduced inlet
temperature, which translates to more power. The AEM Cold Air Systems come with complete
instructions for ease of installation.

Tests/Procedures: 1. Question the customer. Check if he/she started the car, cranked the heater fan on full and went back inside as the car warmed up on a sub-zero morning. Engine temperature rise did not occur at the rate the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) expected. 2. Coolant concentrations of greater than 50/50 can cause this code. Tech Tips: This code will set if the heater system is pulling too much heat from the engine as it is warming up. Introduction: I created this short manual to assist people in installing a new stereo to their Subaru. I have attempted to provide relevant pictures and diagrams to assist. Some of these have been taken from other websites and I have tried to reference them where appropriate.
Background: I have owned my ‘95 Subaru Impreza since I was in high school and have loved every minute of it. When I graduated my parents got me a new stereo for it, an Eclipse 5341R. This is a very nice stereo. One year later, when in school in California, my parents got me a ‘99 Subaru Outback. I had the Eclipse moved over to this vehicle. Later, upon coming back to Kansas, I began to drive my Impreza again.

Removing original inlet hose intact (can be reused)
1. Follow factory service manual for intake manifold removal.
2. Remove original inlet hose.
3. Install PERRIN inlet hose.
4. Re-install intake manifold in reverse order.
5. See instruction on page (2) for hose connections and routing to the PERRIN inlet hose.
