This manual was written to help owners of /2 BMW motorcycles to service their bikes and keep them in running condition. When these motorcycles were made, they had very different electrical requirements to motorcycles today, and used equipment which today’s owner may not fully understand. Doug and Kees hope that this manual is useful to owners of these motorcycles and that it will help owners keep their bikes where they belong – on the road.

With the LANCER EVOLUTION X, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) adopted its first ever trunk-mounted battery with a view to delivering superior performance through a reduction in the proportion of vehicle weight borne by the front wheels. Since the battery is the central part of the power-supply circuitry, changing its location had a significant effect on the electrical systems. Nevertheless, MMC was able to mount the battery in the trunk while ensuring component commonality with the GALANT FORTIS (the vehicle on which the LANCER EVOLUTION X is based). An overview is given in this paper.

With a used vehicle, we suggest a penetrating spray lubricant to be applied liberally to all exhaust fasteners and allowing a significant period of time for the chemical to lubricate the threads before attempting to disassemble.
1. Carefully disconnect and remove the oxygen sensors located just behind each front flange as the left side shown in figure 1. Place them to the side for use during the installation of your new exhaust system.
2. Unbolt and remove the center support bar shown in figure 2. Place the hardware to the side for use during the installation of your new exhaust system.

The GMRC-03 is designed to be used in Cadillac’s that do not have Onstar or amplified systems. It will retain the warning chimes that are lost when the factory radio is removed. The GMRC-03 will also provide a 12 volt switched accessory wire for proper radio operation. *Note: The GMRC-03 can be used in Cadillac’s that come with a factory amplifier; however the factory amplifier must be bypassed and the speaker wires on the GMRC-03 must not be used. Running new wires to the speakers is recommended. If the Cadillac also has Onstar, that feature will be lost.

Exhaust System Removal:
1. Measure 1.5” for STS (See Fig. A) or 9” for SRX (See Fig. B) before the driver side muffler inlet weld. Using a chain cutter or saw, cut the rear muffler off at this measurement.
2. Remove the hanger on the inlet side of the muffler from the rubber isolator.
3. Remove both hangers near the factory tips from the rubber isolators.
NOTE: Be sure to save all rubber isolators from the vehicle. They will be used to install the CORSA Performance exhaust system in later steps.
4. Repeat steps 1-3 for the passenger side muffler.

Our all new, all steel, retro air cleaner is based on the style and dimensions of the 1951-56 Oldsmobile and Cadillac air cleaners. This exciting new product will look at home in any street rod, hot rod, or traditionally styled “period perfect” car.
Measuring a whopping 18-1/4” wide, our air cleaner is no wimpy, scaled-down version of this classic design. This new air cleaner has the same external dimensions as the original Oldsmobile oil-bath part. However, our version uses an Read the rest of this entry »
