P1711 Engine Torque Control Signal 1 Circuit Malfunction – With Automatic Transmission
Possible Causes
Communication circuit between to the TCM is open or shorted to ground PCM connector is damaged (check pins for damage, and for moisture) TCM connector is damaged (check pins for damage, and for moisture)
Setting Conditions
Engine speed more than 500 rpm; system voltage over 8.0v, and the PCM detected an unexpected high voltage condition on the Engine Torque Control Signal 1 circuit. This code sets in 2 Trip(s). This code will turn on the MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp)

Remove the turbocharger system from its carton and inspect for any obvious physical damage. All kit components are thoroughly inspected and carefully packaged prior to shipment from the factory. If any shipping damage is evident, contact your supplier and request that they process a claim with the shipper involved. Be sure to review the parts list on page 3 & 4 to verify that you have all necessary system components to proceed. If any components in the parts list are missing, contact Turbonetics’ customer service staff.

Installation Procedure:
1. On left wall of trunk, remove the three fasteners that secure the trunk liner.
2. Remove Velcro attached net storage if equipped.
3. Open left rear passenger door fold down seat and remove two remaining fasteners that secure trunk liner.
4. Remove trunk liner.
5. Using Router Docking Station as a template, drill or punch four 1/8” diameter holes in level area near rear of trunk liner. Use caution-insulation located behind this area can bind in drill bit.
6. Attach docking station using four supplied nylon Key Hole clips.

Engine, removing and installing Note: All cable ties opened or cut during engine removal must be reinstalled at the same locations. Remove engine without transmission toward the front. Drained coolant must be stored in a clean container for disposal or reuse. Always replace seals and gaskets. Do not open coolant circulation system.

INSPECTION SERVICE POINTS FOR A BLOWN FUSE Remove the fuse and measure the resistance between the load side of the fuse and ground. Set the switches of all circuits which are connected to this fuse to a condition of continuity. If the resistance is almost 0 Ω at this time, there is a short somewhere between these switches and the load. If the resistance is not 0 Ω, there is no short at the present time, but a momentary short has probably caused the fuse to blow.
