There will be a water leak into the lifter valley because of a mismatch of water jacket core holes. Removal 1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING . 2. Drain the engine oil. 3. Remove the intake manifold. For additional information, refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD. 4. Remove the evaporator core housing. For additional information refer to CLIMATE CONTROL . 5. Disconnect the wiring harness retainers from the studs. 6. Remove the injection control pressure (ICP) sensor. 7. If equipped, remove the nut and position the transmission fluid and indicator aside. 8. Remove the bolts, stud bolts and the valve cover. Clean and inspect the valve cover gasket. Edelbrock EGR-equipped Performer manifolds are intended as a direct functionally identical replacement for their O.E.M. counterparts. All exhaust emissions or emissions related stock components are intended to be retained and functional. Performer RPM intake manifolds will not accept stock EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) equipment. EGR systems are used on most 1972 and later model vehicles. Check local laws for requirements. Performer manifolds #2186 and 2191 are packaged with 2 pipe plugs. Install these plugs into the EGR pad if an EGR valve will not be used in your application.
