Victor Jr. 23š heads are designed for competition and ultra high-performance street small blocks and accept valve train hardware designed for standard 23š Chevrolet heads. They have a 550+ hp potential, out-of-the-box, for a cost effective, race-winning set-up. High-flow precision-cast 215cc intake runners offer excellent port alignment with Fel-Pro #1206 intake gaskets (recommended) without the need for port matching. These heads also feature .300” raise exhaust ports and 64cc or 70cc chambers with hardened, ductile iron valve seats and phosphor bronze guides. A 9/16” thick deck surface provides superior gasket retention. Valves are 1-piece, stainless steel high-quality construction.

Cylinder Heads
Mark IV cylinder heads, made by Chevrolet, will not interchange to a stock, production Gen.V Chevy block. There will be a water leak into the lifter valley because of a mismatch of water jacket core holes. Likewise, stock production Gen.V cylinder heads, made by Chevrolet, will not interchange onto Mark IV block cases for the same reason. There are exceptions. Removal 1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING . 2. Drain the engine oil. 3. Remove the intake manifold. For additional information, refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD. 4. Remove the evaporator core housing. For additional information refer to CLIMATE CONTROL . 5. Disconnect the wiring harness retainers from the studs. 6. Remove the injection control pressure (ICP) sensor. 7. If equipped, remove the nut and position the transmission fluid and indicator aside. 8. Remove the bolts, stud bolts and the valve cover. Clean and inspect the valve cover gasket. Edelbrock EGR-equipped Performer manifolds are intended as a direct functionally identical replacement for their O.E.M. counterparts. All exhaust emissions or emissions related stock components are intended to be retained and functional. Performer RPM intake manifolds will not accept stock EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) equipment. EGR systems are used on most 1972 and later model vehicles. Check local laws for requirements. Performer manifolds #2186 and 2191 are packaged with 2 pipe plugs. Install these plugs into the EGR pad if an EGR valve will not be used in your application.
