The Manzanita Micro PFC-50 is a highly versatile electric vehicle charging device that accepts a wide range of input voltages and currents. Connected to a 240VAC/50A circuit, it can fully charge the Toyota RAV4-EV in about 2.5 hours — less than half of the time required by the charger supplied with the vehicle. The PFC-50 can be connected to a 120VAC/15A or 120VAC/20A circuit as well, allowing any conventional electrical receptacle to serve as a charging station. A full charge from a 120VAC/15A circuit is accomplished in approximately 18 hours.

2. Remove Rear Bumper Fascia
(a) Remove (2) Phillips head screws (A) from both sides of the rear fascia (Fig. 2-1). (b) Remove (7) push pins (A) on edges of fascia (Fig. 2-2) (c) Remove (2) Phillips head screws (B) from bottom of fascia (Fig. 2-2). (d) See Fig. 2-3 for removal of fastener (C). (e) Remove (1) 10 mm hex head bolt (C) from right hand (RH) side of fascia. (Fig. 2-3) (f) With one person on each end, remove fascia from vehicle. Store in a safe place to avoid damage during installation.
3. Remove Vehicle Tie Down
(a) Remove (2) M12 Bolts and vehicle tie down (A) from the left hand (Drivers Side) rear of vehicle (Fig. 3-1). (b) Dispose of bracket and (2) bolts.

The U.S. Department of Energy’s Field Operations Program evaluates electric and other advanced technology vehicles in real-world applications and environments. Information generated by the Program is targeted to fleet managers and others considering the leasing and deployment of advanced technology vehicles. The Program subjects vehicles to several types of performance and operations tests; this report only addresses the Fleet Evaluation testing of 10 electric Toyota RAV4s by Southern California Edison (SCE). Vehicles subjected to Fleet Evaluation are driven in “normal” fleet environments. Most of the data addresses the 1-year test period (4th quarter 1998 through 3rd quarter 1999). The 10 RAV4s were picked randomly from SCE’s fleet of 245 RAV4s.
