Installation Step:
1. Begin by installing the pushrod adjuster into the rocker arm. The cupped side faces down and is where the pushrod makes contact. Screw the adjuster in until only the first thread is shown on the bottom side of the rocker arm.
2. Install the pushrod adjuster jam nut on the topside of the rocker arm, but do not tighen.
3. Assemble an exhaust and intake rocker set by using the intermediate shaft, which goes into each rocker shaft. The two bores for the shaft will be facing each other, making an intake and exhaust pair for each cylinder.
4. Install the stepped stand on the bottom side of each rocker arm and insert the socket (Allen) head bolts through the assembly from the top.

Preparing the Crankshaft and Convertor for Installation
• Always check the crankshaft pilot for burrs and out-of-round.
• Remove any rust with emery paper and lightly grease pocket receiving torque convertor pilot hub.
• Remove paint from the torque convertor’s crank pilot hub with emery paper.
• Before installation, pre-fit the torque convertor to the flex plate and into the back of the crankshaft. It should be a snug, even fit (not loose or binding).
• Slowly pour two quarts of automatic transmission fluid into the convertor.
• Check the flex plate for cracks or worn teeth.
• Replace the transmission front seal.
• Install the torque convertor on the front of the transmission.
• When installing the torque convertor into the transmission, you will feel it seat 3 times for the input shaft, shaft to stator, and oil pump notches.

Instructions:
1. Remove the stock GM 245mm impeller hub by boring a 3.380″/3.385″ diameter hole on center in the stock GM 245mm impeller (see Figure 1).
2. Install the Sonnax CH-90CM-27 impeller hub from the outside. Weld around the OD of the impeller hub, making sure it is centered in the impeller. This weld must be leak-proof (see Figure 2).
3. Once the impeller hub is fitted, fixture the impeller assembly in the lathe. Turn the lip of the impeller so that it is 3.80″ from the end of the impeller hub. Then turn the OD down to 10.150″/10.145″ diameter, .40″ from the end (see Figure 3).
4. Install the adapter ring on the impeller assembly as shown in Figure 4 and weld around the OD of the impeller. This weld must be leak-proof.

Machining Instructions:
NOTE: Stand position is determined upon valve length and rocker pivot length. Please refer to the chart below to determine the proper machining dimensions.
1) MEASURE VALVE TIP TO SPRING SEAT DIMENSION (DIM A) AND REFER TO “Z” COORDINATE (DIM B) ON CHART. MILL OEM ROCKER PEDISTALS DOWN FLUSH WITH THE TOP OF THE HEAD BOLT BOSS BETWEEN #1 & 3 INTAKE VALVE. THIS IS YOUR .000” Z HEIGHT. MILL REMAINDER OF ROCKER PEDISTAL TO COORDINATES LISTED UNDER DIM B.
2) SET THE “X” .000” TO THE CENTERLINE OF #3 & 5 EXHAUST VALVES. SET THE “Y” .000” TO THE CENTER OF THE FACTORY 3/8 SHAFT MOUNTING BOLTS ALREADY MACHINED IN THE HEAD.
3) DRILL AND TAP 9/16-12 X .750” DEEP AT “X” AND “Y” COORDINATES LISTED FOR VALVE LENGTH AND ROCKER BODY BEING USED. INSTALL SUPPLIED INSERTS INTO HEAD.
4) ATTACH ROCKER STAND USING SUPPLIED BOLTS AND TORQUE TO 45 FT/LBS.

Chrysler, one of the most dominant names during the early “Muscle Car” era, developed three basic series of engines which are still very popular in racing and performance today. Recently, the engineers at Chrysler added two versions of a new V-10. Both have become very popular. For our purposes we will refer to the 273-360 Small Block Chrysler engines as the “A” engine, the 383-440 Big Block standard head engines as the “B” engine, and don’t forget the ever popular Hemi. In these pages we have attempted to pass along some common “tips” learned during our many years of engine building, as well as the experiences of many of our customers. We will not attempt to cover all of the little things, only the more unique and aggravating trouble spots. If ever in doubt, there are many excellent reference manuals. You will have bolts/nuts left over. There are several vehicle arrangements and we have provided the hardware for each configuration.
STEP ONE: Determine proper bracket placement.
1) Find the pre-existing holes equally spaced on the pinch weld.
2) Factory mounting holes have changed throughout model years and will require one of the following. ( Fig A & B )

Cylinder Heads
Mark IV cylinder heads, made by Chevrolet, will not interchange to a stock, production Gen.V Chevy block. There will be a water leak into the lifter valley because of a mismatch of water jacket core holes. Likewise, stock production Gen.V cylinder heads, made by Chevrolet, will not interchange onto Mark IV block cases for the same reason. There are exceptions. The components of this clamping adapter system are used to anchor the Audi A-2 vehicle which has jack tubes and lift tabs in its rocker panels. The system provides a positive means of securing these vehicles to the EZ Liner mainframe.
Clean jack tubes using one of the anchoring pins. (See Figure 1.)
a. Insert a steel punch (or bar) through the 1/2 inch hole at end of pin and use it as a handle.
b. Rotate the pin right and left as it is moved in and out of the jack tube hole.
NOTE: Holes must be clean to allow for easy installation and removal of the anchoring assembly.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT use force to drive the pin into the jack tube. Using force to drive the pin into the hole may make it difficult (or impossible) to remove the pin.

Installation Instructions
Note: If you are not familiar with this type of installation, you may want to consult a Service Trade Manual. The manual will also provide you a complete listing of torque specifications. Your Chrysler starter will bolt into place without any modifications. You will need to modify the transmission bellhousing to gain needed clearance for the starter nose.
