VS131 Setting/Locking Tool Kit includes the Camshaft Setting Tool to ‘lock’ the camshaft in its correct timing position, a Crankshaft Locking Pin and Injection Pump Locking Pin. Additionally the kit includes the essential Timing Adjustment Assembly required to adjust and fix pump timing/cam sprocket position during the engine timing procedure. General Guide – Setting & Locking FIAT TWIN CAM engines. Timing belt replacement on 1.6, 1.8 16v. and 2.0 20v. Fiat twin camshaft engines is carried out with the crankshaft at TDC, established by using VS1404 TDC Position Tool and a DTI (Fig.1), to determine the piston position in No.1 cylinder, and then by checking that all timing marks align. NOTE: To avoid kit contents duplication, VS1404 TDC Position Tool is not included in individual kits but is available as an Associated Tool. It is used on Fiat 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 multi-valve engines.

Removal: 1. Raise vehicle on a hoist, allowing the front suspension lower arms (3078) to hang free.
2. Remove wheel and tire assembly.
3. Remove disc brake caliper (2B120), then wire it out of the way to obtain working room.
4. Disconnect tie rod end (3A130) assembly from the front wheel spindle (3105) using Tie Rod End Remover TOOL-3290-D or equivalent.

Introduction: Remove/Install rear sub-frame bushes in Mondeo. Can be used in situ – no need to remove sub-frame from vehicle. Applications: Ford Mondeo 2001, 10/2000 onwards
3.1 Ensure that the vehicle is adequately supported on axle stands before working under the vehicle.
3.2 Although there is no need to remove the sub-frame from the vehicle it will be necessary to lower it to gain access to both sides of the bush housing.

Camshaft Locking Tools
Application : 2002–2003 3.2L VIN N used in Cadillac CTS
1997–2001 3.0L VIN R used in Cadillac Catera
2001–2007 3.0L VIN R used in Saturn L300 & LW300
1996–2003 3.0L used in Saab 9.5
NOTE: No. 536954 and No. 536595 are to be used together.
1. To ensure the valves will not hit the pistons, the crankshaft must NOT be at top dead center (TDC) at the start of this procedure.
2. Turn the camshaft and drive sprocket to align the timing mark on the sprocket with the timing mark on the timing cover.
3. Install the No. 536594 and No. 536595 locking tools to hold the camshafts in time.
4. Rotate the crankshaft to TDC #1
